Recently one of team, (one of the Helens!) has had the pleasure of helping a lovely lady with her shopping. This lady has some visual impairment and other health issues which means that it helps to have someone who can read the labels well and carry the bags. Helen said, "Last week we were lucky to have enough time to catch up over a coffee, which enabled me to find out more about her and her life, and to just listen."

Being a good listener helps build frienship and is also an essential soft skill, which is so important in the role that we do at Hook Home Help. By communicating we share our expereinces and needs, which helps us to connect to others, which is the essence of life.

Helen said, "It feels rewarding to make that difference in someone's life, in order to make it easier, no matter how small the tasks involved".
