Hook Home Help helps all the way to the end

Recently Hook Home Help had a different sort of day out as we were helping out at the funeral of one of our clients. On this day we learnt that this person was much loved and it was a delight to see photos of them throughout their lives and how many people came back after the ceremony to remember him.

We also learnt how much hard work it is to put on such an event, and I for one have a renewed respect for anyone who works in the catering industry! We made tea and coffee for about a zillion people, washed a thousand cups and plates and juggled with chairs and tables and giant brooms all with a smile. Apparently we were so good at it that someone was going to ask for our number so we can cater for their event!

However we are not branching out, we are branching back to where we came from - which is providing home help for local people. We will go to all sorts of lengths to support our clients and their families, and we were honoured to have been asked to help out all the way to last possible day for this gentleman.

We have taken our pinnies off, recovered from our highest step count for a while and are now back to normal, making tea for one person at a time, focussing on one person at a time and doing whatever we can to make their life a bit happier and a bit easier.
