Talking about life and death and health and worries
Today we're at Basingstoke hospital for an appointment. This morning we've discussed anxiety, living after the death of a partner, focusing on the positives, accepting the inevitability of death and funeral plans, and how to discuss this with "the children", who are in their sixties!
It seems that it can be useful to have a non family member to talk to sometimes. It also seems useful to the family to have someone on hand to be their local backup when they live some distance away.
I also learnt that it can be useful to remind people to bring their mobile phones with them - I won't be making that mistake again!
