Hook Home Help helps with laundry. Maybe it is hard to get clothes in and out of washing machine and drier, or it could be hard to carry them downstairs. We can help with laundry as a temporary measure during illness or after hospital stays, or as part of a regular home help routine.

Every client needs something different. We can change sheets and help with all the household tasks that get harder as we get older. Even better we can do these things while having a chat and listening about times gone by. Sometimes people need practical help but often they are more grateful for some company and someone to be with.

For some people it makes the world of difference to find their clothes washed and dried, turned the right way round, folded and put in the right place. One client likes to help a bit and be with me as I work. He carefully changes a pillowcase while I do the rest of the bed and he helps to straighen the quilt made lovingly by his wife who he lost many years ago. As we do this together he chats about their life together and his children and grandchildren. A bit of company and a bit of help can sometimes make the world of difference
